They are the companion of the SAE pipe threaded flanges. And the SAE pipe threaded flange companion is well known as the flat face SAE screw-in flange, while the SAE screw-in flange is also known as the O-ring face SAE pipe threaded flange.
Usually one SAE pipe threaded flange and one SAE pipe threaded counterflange make a full set of double pipe threaded flange with the 4 bolts and O-ring.

Main series
There are two main series of SAE pipe threaded companion flange (counter flange) as below.
- SAE 3000 psi series
SAE 3000 psi series of SAE screw-in flange companion (counter flange) is designed in standard ISO 6162-1 and SAE J518, it is for normal pressure applications, working pressure from 35 bar to 350 bar. - SAE 6000 psi series
SAE 6000 series Screw-in flange companion is designed in standard ISO 6162-2 and SAE J518, it is for high pressure applications, working pressure can be up to 420 bar.
How to order SAE pipe threaded counter flange (companion flange)?
Customer who want to purchase SAE pipe threaded counterflange (SAE screw-in flange companion), need to tell us below information:
- Material of the counterflange: 304 stainless steel, 316 stainless steel or carbon steel, etc.
- Pressure Rate series: 3000 psi series or 6000 psi series.
- Counterflange size.
- Thread type: Metric thread or UNC thread.
- Pipe thread type: BSPP, NPT, etc.
