SAE flange is a kind of hydraulic flanges which is designed and made according to standard SAE J518C.
SAE flanges are also conform to standard ISO 6162-1 and ISO 6162-2. The SAE flange according to ISO6162-1 is known as code 61 flange or SAE 3000 flange also, while the SAE flange according to ISO6162-2 is known as code 62 flange or SAE 6000 flange also.

SAE flange main series
SAE flanges come in two different pressure series below:
- 3000 psi code 61 series /SAE 3000 flanges
The 3000 psi series SAE flanges are designed for normal /light pressure applications, they conform to standard ISO 6162-1, and are well known as code 61 flanges. - 6000 psi code 62 series / Flange SAE 6000
The 6000 psi series SAE flanges are designed for heavy pressure applications, they conform to standard ISO 6162-2, and are well known as code 62 flanges.

SAE flange Working Pressure
The working pressure rate of SAE flanges usually are determined by the strength of the SAE flange block, the O-ring seal, and the bolts strength grade.
And there are two main different pressure rates of SAE flanges, which are:
- SAE Class 3000 psi flanges:
With suitable O-ring and bolts, the working pressure of SAE class 3000 flanges can be up to 350 bar, depends on the sizes. The smaller the size, the higher working pressure of the flanges. - SAE Class 6000 psi flanges:
With suitable O-ring and bolts, the working pressure of SAE class 6000 flanges can be up to 350 bar or 420 bar, depends on the bolts used. When use the grade 8.8 bolts, the working pressure of the flange SAE 6000 can be max. 350 bar, when use the grade 10.9 bolts, the working pressure of the flange SAE 6000 can be max. 420 bar.
